UTTARKASHI: The number of people killed in bus accident in Uttarakashi has increased to 26 after a late night rescue operation.
According to officials, bodies of 25 pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh have been sent to Jollygrant hospital, whereas body of bus conductor Vikram Bora, resident of Uttarakhand’s Almora is kept in CHC, Naugaun.
On the other side, four injured persons have been referred to Max hospital, and they are in stable condition.
The bus carrying 28 pilgrims from Panna in MP, fell into 250-metre deep gorge near Damta on Yamunotri NH of Uttarkashi district on Sunday evening.
Meanwhile, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and CM of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan have reached the incident spot.
Dhami, Chouhan announce compensation for kin of victims
Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami announced relief of Rs 1 lakh for the next of kin of the dead and Rs 50,000 for the injured in Uttarkashi bus accident.

Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the deceased’s families, Rs 50,000 and free treatment to the 4 critically injured including the driver.
