AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Iraqi Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Hassan Nadhim said here on Friday that his country’s planning for proper hosting of Arbaeen pilgrims, including the Iranian pilgrims, is on the agenda.

The Iraqi minister made the remarks in a meeting with Qum Province Governor Mohammad-Taqi Cheraqi, after referring to the historical and cultural bonds between the Iranian and Iraqi nations.

Hassan Nadhim added that the existence of holy shrines, Shi’a seminary schools and esteemed sources of jurisprudence in Iran has made this country the main destination for Iraqi pilgrims.

He added that the deep cultural relations between the Iranian and Iraqi nations is not a new issue, since the two nations’ friendly and brotherly relations date back to remote past in history.

The Iraqi culture minister, meanwhile, appreciated the warm hospitality of the governor of Qom province, and said that the hospitality of Iraqi people, too, is well known for the Iranian pilgrims of Imam Hossein (AS) in his Arbaeen mourning ceremonies.

Nadhim said he believes the Iraqi people know the great significance of Arbaeen in proximity of them with the Iranian nation.
