Commonwealth Games 2022 Closing Ceremony Highlights: The Commonwealth Games 2022 came to an end on Monday after a glittering closing ceremony at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham. The Games flag was lowered and handed over Victoria, Australia which host the next edition of the CWG in 2026. The closing ceremony had kicked off with a performance from Solihull band Ocean Colour Scene. This was followed by a musical performance from the Birmingham-born band Dexys Midnight Runners. One of the biggest bands of all time, UB40 added more to the event, while other musicians and bands from the Midlands region entertained the crowd with their performance.

Birmingham to Victoria, CWG baton moves on
The state of Victoria, Australia will be the next host of the Commonwealth Games in 2026.
We now see the Flag Handover Ceremony, which signifies the official handover of the Commonwealth Games from Birmingham to Victoria, where in March 2026, it will deliver the first true multi-city Commonwealth Games in Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Gippsland.
